SALES ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Head Office – Altrincham, Cheshire
Job Type: Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Gunn JCB as a Sales Administrator within our Machinery Sales division.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to support our sales operation at Head Office. This pivotal administrative role requires a professional approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Communication

  • Respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments to support the full sales process.

Order Processing & Invoicing

  • Accurately process machinery orders and raise sales invoices.
  • Ensure all documentation related to purchases and sales is completed promptly and to company standards.

Order Management & Coordination

  • Monitor the status of machinery orders, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding orders and keep customers and internal colleagues informed of progress.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Service and Parts departments to resolve any vehicle-related queries.
  • Verify correct installation of accessories and attachments prior to delivery.

Administration & Data Entry

  • Enter sales and machine data accurately into internal systems.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date electronic and paper records, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or sales support role (ideally within machinery, automotive, or a related commercial environment).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn internal systems (training will be provided).
  • A team-orientated and proactive approach with a willingness to learn.

About This Role

We’re looking for a Used Asset Sales Executive to join our Sales team, focusing on all sectors of our used equipment range. In this role, you’ll be the driving force behind growing our used sales, optimising tender opportunities, and building relationships with a full range of customers.

 

 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers across our assigned territory.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the sectors in which we operate.
  • Work collaboratively with our sales and operational teams to maximise asset disposal routes.
  • Oversee asset disposals, ensuring the best possible returns on investments.
  • Provide market insights and competitor analysis to support strategic business decisions.

About You

You’re a results-driven salesperson with experience in construction or MHE sales. You’re self-motivated, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

  • Knowledge of construction equipment and the UK Marketplace.

About The Role

As a Parts Advisor, your main duties would include:

  • Assisting with customer enquiries over the counter and on the phone.
  • Working with service colleagues to arrange parts deliveries.
  • Managing stock.
  • Ordering parts via JCB’s online catalogue.

Liaising with our engineers who support our customers all over the country Detailed training will be given by your colleagues and our specialised training team, who have recently developed a bespoke training programme for our parts staff. This includes familiarisation sessions with the wide range of plant machinery that we provide and support, as well as some technical instruction to improve your understanding of how this equipment works.

This Parts Advisor position is a great opportunity for someone who is able to work independently. Once you have gained an understanding of our processes and procedures, you will be supported in developing this aspect of our parts business further, working closely with management to achieve the best standards of service in the industry.
